Road Atlanta

My second third week and second race for Jägermeister Racing.

This track has always been the one I fear the most appart from Sonoma. Still I marched on and practiced the whole week to learn the damn thing! Its been ups and down the whole week. The mechanics has had plenty of work on the car.

Now what a rush it is when you finaly feel that you are starting to get a hang of it!
After a whole lot of practice I was able to go full throtle down the esses!

After hours of practice and setting up the car there was time for qualifying.
Now this was trully horrible! I had just one complete flying lap and that was a 1:15.9xx lap.
Then after some minor tweaks to the setup I was flying on to a 1:13.xxx lap, but then I had an oil leak* and had to abort qualifying.


Then come race day!

After a thrilling start I had a couple of good passes.

Then on lap 4 or so I came upon Roy Stevens who was holding me back. I was about 1.5 seconds quicker per lap, but I could find no way of getting by him! After about 7-8 laps I finaly made a pass.

But he was quick to get it back after I made a mistake going into turn 1.

But then 2-3 laps later I got passed him again after lots of great battleing!

What a rush it was!

But it all quickly fell from there when I had a transmission** failure..
It was such a fin and thrilling race! Getting up to P7 but then everything just fall appart..

I still cant get over it after two days.. But I gotta look forward as one of my favorite tracks are comming up!
Mosport here I come!!

So I didnt realy have an oil leak or a transmission filure but I sayd so to get a more enjoyable read. At least I think its more fun to put it that way. And it kinda makes it easier as that actualy happens in real life as well. Real drivers dont have to worry about their connection or other distractions. But they have their own failures witch we dont have to worry about. So this is what happened:
*Oil leak. This was my girlfriend coming getting me to go to the store with her, something I had forgotten that I had agreed with xD
**Transmission failure. This is the most anoying thing thats happened to me yet.. After about 15 laps of great racing my internet screwed up. I dont know what happened as the internet feels stable while in a browser. But I completly lost connection with iRacing. My landlord has contacted our ISP so it will hopefully not happen again.
